Heather - Reunion - Airplane - Keokuk

I have been planning for this trip for months. Originally we weren't going to Branson. But we added the exra days just after Caleb was born. Gratefully my parents are generous enough as well as my broher Jared to help us with the finances of the trip.

We really enjoyed our time with Heather and her girls. They are addorable! Jakob and the girls are finally old enough to play together without too much competition. It was nice for us to be able to visit with Heather and eat her delicious cooking!

Leif's family reunion was short (we were late) but it was nice to hear some family history and meet new family members.

Going to the cemetery for memorial day was a special experience. I was surprised that I got emotional at all. It is amazing the connection that we have with the girls even though we were not together long. Jakob is gradually starting to understand the concept of death (as much as a 3 year old can.)

Jakob and Caleb did Fantastic on the whole flight and the long drive from Kansas City. Jakob listened to stories and music on his I-Pod. Grandma played with him on the plane. He colored pictures and erased pictures on his white board, played with some of the folder games I made for him, and told stories together with Papa. Jakob also was our designated "Hero" for Caleb. He would not let me help Caleb from the front seat. So when I HAD to feed Caleb a bottle while on the drive, Jakob fed him and he fed him perfectly. Caleb especially appreciated his TLC! I hate feeding him like that, but I am grateful for my dear friend Harmony's pump she loaned me so I can feed Caleb bottles.

While driving we thoroughly enjoyed the lush green scenery around us. We were also surprised and excited to come upon an Amish couple riding in their horse and buggy on the highway that we were driving on. They waved and smiled big as we slowed down considerably so I could try and snap a picture. We also loved to see the old farm houses... It was a beautiful drive.

We were thrilled to arrive in Keokuk, Iowa and to find that our hotel was very nice and comfortable!

20 Day Trip Has Begun!

We have started our trip of a life time (up to this point in our marriage:) We started in Pocatello, Idaho to visit Heather. We then went to Brigham City, Utah to a Family Reunion for Leif's mother's side on Memorial Day. We also visited the girls' graves. On Tuesday the 27th we boarded a plane with my parents and flew to Kansas City, MO. From there we drove to Keokuk, Iowa (half hour out of Nauvoo, Il.) We checked in our hotel and settled in. Today uncle Jim and aunt Kathy met us and we went to Carthage Jail in Carthage, Il. - Nauvoo Temple - Lucy Mack Smith/Joseph Bates Noble home - and dinner at the Nauvoo house. We will spend 3 more days here and then head back through Missouri where we will stop at Hannibal (Mark Twain's home), Adam ondi aman, and Liberty Jail. We will then continue on to Carthage, Missouri and stay with uncle Bruce for a few days. From there we will drive to Branson Missouri and meet everyone for a family reunion on my mom's side of the family. That's the abbreviated version of our itinerary. From this point on I will blog the trip in detail. Wish us luck and hope you enjoy our journey with us it will last until June 12th.

We're Back On Track!

WE'RE BACK!! I forgot the password.... But through a miracle I figured it out. So things should be steady from this point on.

There's no way to give a play by play of the last year. So I'll just start with a few facts and some pictures.

We live in Fredonia, Arizona. We have converted the space above Leif's parents garage (called "The Barn", about 750 square feet) into an apartment. We will probably be here another year if we can continue to fit in the small space. Leif is a full time student at Dixie State College. He switched his major to Business this semester because he was able to earn over 40 credits in one day through clep tests. This moved us forward a year and gave Leif the opportunity to earn a BS degree. So that's our direction right now. Jakob finishes his last week of Preschool this week. And Caleb Noble Baron (born on April 7, 2008) is now just over 1 month old and is a joy!

I'm working constantly trying to keep up with the kids' needs, the house, and finding a minute here and there for myself or time with Leif. We are preparing for our huge summer trip (sponsored by my parents and brother Jared) We will be going to Nauvoo, Carthage MO, and Branson MO, for a family reunion. We're really looking forward to it. It will be just under 1 month long. Wish us luck!!!

When it comes to our hobbies and work, Leif and I are still building a business http://www.itvfreedomteam/ and I love to research and learn about health and natural healing. I document some of my discoveries on my website when I can get a chance to update it http://www.awakeningyourhealth.com/
