I got a phone call yesterday around 10A. It was Leif informing me that Jakob was in the school office SOAKED and dripping from his waist down. Apparently he found a rain puddle during recess and according to him, "sometimes I forget what's in my brain." and he cannon balled into the puddle.
Well, his teacher wasn't too impressed. But you know... I was.;) It's not easy to have that much fun. But being the mom I had to act responsible. So I picked him up (checked him out of school to go to the library for Story Hour) and said, "Don't you know your not supposed to jump in puddles without rubber boots!?" He smiled. Then of course I had to follow up with, "and besides, you don't jump in puddles at school." Which got me thinking...
I'm really a homeschool mom at heart!

So was that an admission of taking Jakob out of school??? Just wondering what your planning!!! I know how hard it is to reign those free spirits in!
No, not this year. But probably next year. Mostly because we'll be moving back and forth from here to Vegas for Leif's schooling. This year is fine for the most part. I just have moments where I miss it on occasion. But no drastic measures at the moment.
What a great mom. I would have been upset and probably scolded, but what good would that do.
LOL! Sounds like you handled it great :) Yeah... I probably would've gotten a bit upset, but you're right - life is meant to be lived, right?
That's so funny. I love it. I think I would have said about the same thing.
I'm surprised the school didn't require you to send an extra change of clothes at the beginning of the year. Maybe you should should anyway.... :)
LOL...that is hilarious! I've got a free spirit on my hands too!
I probably would have given Maya a high-five and taken her for ice cream hehe :)
(I was gonna say the same thing about the change of clothes - Maya's preschool had us bring extra clothes just in case)
That is so great! Dallon would have been right there with him. I loved your response. What a way to connect with him and see it from his perspective. Joy in the moments.
